FAQ

What is Radar Data?
Radar Data is our own catalog of movies, shows, games, books, and more. We built it after years of relying on third parties meant blurry images, wrong release dates, and items that went missing or changed without warning. Owning our data means nothing ever disappears from your library, it keeps costs low so Radar Pro can stay affordable, and it lets us add anything, like an indie film that's still in production, so people can start saving it right away.
What are Unlinked Items?
Unlike other apps, Radar is powered by our own community-built catalog, Radar Data. That means that we won't always be able to show you what you might be looking for in search. To ensure you always have the best experience, regardless of technical limitations, we offer Unlinked Items as a way to create items for anything, like secret projects, or a small student film.
What is "Offline Search"?
If you're anything like us and spend a lot of time on the subway, you know there's nothing more frustrating than going to save a new movie or book someone told you about, only for the app you're trying to use to require internet before it even loads. That's why we spent years ensuring you can do nearly anything on Radar without an internet connection, including search. When searching offline, you'll be prompted to create an Unlinked Item. When you come back online, Radar will begin to process your request, and you'll receive a suggestion for that item automatically.
Do I need an account?
No. Radar was built from the ground up to work offline and without an account. If you ever want one later, you can switch at any time. You can also import and export your data whenever you like, even offline, so you're always in control of it.
What does Radar know about me?
Very little. Most of Radar lives on your device, and we don't build taste profiles in the cloud. Your reviews, notes, and tags are encrypted on your device before they're ever sent to our servers.
Does Radar sell or share my data?
Never. Radar doesn’t sell or share any data with third parties, ever, and there’s no way for a company to access your ratings, reviews, or anything else you save.
Is Radar a Social Media App?
Absolutely not. Radar was built from the ground up to be privacy first, and give you the choice to use Radar how you want. That means never being required to use an account and never being forced into social features you're not interested in. Radar social features are created with extreme thought and care to have a positive impact on your life, instead of addicting you to endless scrolling.
Can other people see my library?
If you're using a Radar account with social features enabled, by default only your friends can see the items inside your library. If you don't want friends to be able to view your library, you can disable this at any time in Settings -> Social -> Share Library With Friends.
How does Radar make money?
For those who want to support Radar, we offer Radar Pro, with incredible new features for anyone who wants to make the most of Radar. In the future, we'll offer Radar for Business to help connect small businesses, indie game developers, first-time authors, and more to users without sacrificing user privacy.
Who's behind Radar?
Radar was created by Paradox, a startup based in New York, founded by former Apple and IBM engineers. We created Radar because making plans and finding something to do with the people we care about most shouldn't be so hard.
Which platforms does Radar support?
Radar is available on iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple Vision Pro.
How much does Radar cost?
Radar is and always will be free to use. For those looking to make the most of Radar, we offer Radar Pro for $0.99/mo or $9.99/yr.
When did Radar launch?
Radar was first launched on August 8, 2025 for iPhone.
Where can I download Radar?
Radar is available on the App Store as Radar - Social Curation
